You may have noticed that I’m pretty rubbish at updating this webpage. I do have an Instagram account, that I’m also rubbish at updating, however I’m generally slightly less rubbish at updating it , so you will find it is far more up to date than this site, so here’s a feed from it!

Okay, last Bluebells in the woods shot! Skating photos to resume at the end of next week!
Popped back to Parnholt this morning....
Couple of images from this mornings short trip out to Parnholt.
I've had a Raynox Dcr-250 Magnification lens for a few years now, but I've never really used it. You whack it on the front of your normal lens and it boosts the magnification. It tends to work best with actual macro lenses, so you can get better than a 1:1 reproduction, allowing you do get insanely detailed pictures of bugs eyes and stuff like that. Anyway, as I said, I've not really used it much (if at all) and it's just been sat in the cupboard gathering dust. I saw some fancy Macro flash diffusers and thought I'd pick one up and have a bash at it. I tried making my own, but it didn't work out very well... it all looked a bit Blue Peter. So here's a shot of a Snail. The 1st shot isn't that zoomed in, but the second is, showing you just how enlarged you can get your shots!
The only downside with all of this is that it kills your bloody back!

3 shots looking down from Loughrigg Fell towards a misty Elterwater on the first morning of our trip 'oop north. This was pretty much the only day that we had any decent light and after my morning jaunt up here on my own we headed over to the upper Eskdale valley for a fantastic walk up to Great Moss.
The Kirkstone pass - I'm back home after a fun filled week in the Lake District. The weather was so-so for much of the week. It didn't really rain, but it didn't really do anything interesting, so it felt like a continuation of the past 3 months of dark and gloomy weather. Anyway, we managed to get loads of walks in but photography opportunities were pretty much non existent. Still, it was great to be out with the family.
This was shot with my drone part way down the Kirkstone pass looking towards Patterdale and Ullswater.
I had stupidly agreed to pick my son up from a gig at the O2 last night so I thought I'd have a wander round Soho whilst I waited. I still can't get over how much busier London is now compared to when I lived and Worked up there 20 odd years ago. The place is absolutely rammed all the time these days.
A small handful of shots from yesterdays jaunt over to Newhaven. Initially I was thinking of heading down to Dartmoor to try and catch the last of the Autumn colour, but the forecast high winds put paid to that plan! I ended up heading over to Newhaven, which as long as the tide is high enough normally provides some ace views! I ended up using the cheap and cheerful ('ish) RF 100-400 handheld for these as there was no way of using a tripod and bigger lens in the 50mph winds. #newhaven #storm #englishchannel #seascape #wind #waves
Popped out earlier for a quick wander around the forest before the last of the autumn colours disappear. I struggle with woodland photography as I find the scenes all just look too chaotic and messy, so this time I mainly stuck to my 100-400 lens which really helped to isolate subjects and stop it looking quite so much like "Just a bunch of trees" #newforest #england #autumn #woodland #hampshire #forest
A couple of shots from a quick wander around the forest this afternoon. We look to be a week or so off of peak Autumnal Colours. #newforest
Second part of my @alan_schaller inspired street wanderings... split into two as Instagram really can't handle posts where the aspect ratio's are different. I managed 20k steps yesterday, luckily the Vans held up! I'm being dragged out for a walk along the coast by my Wife now.
On a bit of an @alan_schaller vibe.. so Yesterday I spent the afternoon in London as I had the @uklpoty awards do (I got a commendation, yay!) in the evening. So, what better place than to get some street photography practise in! These were all shot with my Canon R5 and by new (and very VERY cheap) Canon FD 24mm f/2.8.. I say new, it was made in November 1980 (I looked it up!), but anyway, it's new to me! I really don't like photographing people, but using Alans sneaky hip fire method I managed to get these (and the ones in the next post), all pre focused to a certain distance.
